Founded in 1803, Milledgeville served as the capital of Georgia during the Civil War. It now serves as the county seat of Baldwin County and is located 30 miles northeast of Macon and bordered on the east by the Oconee River.

Today, the “Old Capitol City” is a college town, offering both southern charm and trendy college ambience. With an impressive variety of locally owned shops and restaurant options, Milledgeville is a prime example of the best tourism, dining, and culture, that Middle Georgia has to offer.

Le Pied Du Mont Boucherie Festival

The Le Pied Du Mont Boucherie festival is a two-day educational event, designed to bring the community together to witness the craft of butchers, farmers, and chefs who work together throughout the growing season to prepare seasonal and delicious meals from local, sustainable and organic sources.

The festival takes place at Comfort Farms, the nation’s first Acute Veterans Crisis Agriculture center. Comfort Farms, created by STAG VETS INC, is named in honor of United States Army Airborne Ranger Captain Kyle A. Comfort, (KIA, May 8, 2010).

Their premier location currently prepares veterans and students for careers in sustainable food production that integrates economic profitability, environmental stewardship, and healing through the use of a developing model of Agro-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and time-tested organic holistic approaches.

Georgia Military College is a public military junior college in Milledgeville, Georgia. It is divided into the junior college, a military junior college program, high school, middle school, and elementary school.
